EXODUS STUDY

Facilitator: Jeff Thomas

Dates: January - May
Throughout the fall, Pastor Jeff will lead a course studying the book of Exodus, using Ray Vander Laan’s “That the World may Know” materials. This class will uncover meanings in Exodus that you had likely never previously considered, and it is sure to challenge every participant on how they live their daily lives as believers. This class will include both watching DVD’s, as well as times of discussion. Everyone is welcome to join this class, as it is going to be an excellent study for all who attend.

SUNDAY SCHOOL GUIDE

Sunday School Guide, is a popular Sunday morning study that has become a tradition at First Reformed Church. This class will continue through spring, so whether you have been a part of this class in the past, or are new, you are welcome to join us!

CONNECTING OVER COFFEE

Facilitator: Jamie and Melissa Longstreth
Location: Conference Room
Dates: September - May
Connecting Over Coffee, is an informal time to sit back, relax, and fellowship with others. Maybe you came a few minutes late, or you just brought your children downstairs and you need a few minutes to regroup before worship. There is no agenda to this time ~ just an opportunity to connect with others from FRC.

Wednesday Night Classes ~ 6:30-8:00 p.m. (Sept. - April)

Women's Small Group
 
Facilitator: Lori Hortegas
Location: The Cellar
Dates: Sept. - December
This women’s small group offers stand alone DVD sessions with speakers such as: Beth Moore, Anne Graham Lotz, and Pricilla Shirer. DVD’s will be watched every other week, with time for discussion on the other weeks. This class will not have homework, but will simply be a space for women to come, learn, and share together. Women of all ages are encouraged to attend. The format will be informal, and this will be a wonderful time of encouragement and sharing for all who choose to attend.

Men’s Small Group - "Chosen to Lead"

Facilitators: Pastor Ryan and Josh Wright
Location: The Loft
Dates: Sept. - December
This men’s group deals with the issues men face on a regular basis. God calls men to be the spiritual leaders of their homes, and to live a life honoring to their Creator! Throughout this fall, we will seek to cultivate a passion for God, purity, prayer, integrity, discipleship, and our families. Both single as well as married men of all ages are encouraged to attend!

The Hole in Our Gospel

Facilitator: Dana Ellis and Tricia Heeringa
Location: The Stage Room
Dates: Sept. - December
This class is based upon Richard Stearns book “The Hole in our Gospel”. Central to the teachings of Jesus, is an intentional concern for the needs of others around us. In this study, Stearns addresses how this could be ‘lacking’ from contemporary Christianity, and how we can seek to be the followers of Jesus in the world today, that Christ intended for us to be! This class is open to everyone of all ages.

Storytelling

Facilitator: Arvin Wester
Location: The Chapel
Dates: Sept. - April.
Within everyone’s life there is a story to tell. This class will be a great opportunity for you to hear weekly testimonies of the goodness of God within the lives of various individuals within our church family. Anyone of any age is encouraged to attend.

ESL Class

Facilitators: Daniel and Anna Frlan
Location: Conference Room
Dates: Sept. - May
This will be our second year offering ESLclasses on campus on Wednesday nights. The classes will be broken down into multiple levels based upon the learners’ degree of English comprehension. Also, like last year, we will be partnering with the Whatcom Literacy Council, and working with them to offer these classes. These classes are free and open to the public, so if you know of anyone who would benefit from these classes, please let them know about this opportunity.
